| . The QRSLMBC club bowls Calendar was prepared after considering the dates of Bowls ACT Championship events and individual Club’s tournaments. Also our club competitions need to be completed so that teams are eligible for ACT Champion of Champion events. We know there are a couple of long weekends involved, but it is difficult to see any way around them with really only weekends available. It is important to make it really clear that you can play on or before the scheduled date, as long as a game gets played before the scheduled next round so it doesn’t delay any other games then it doesn’t matter when you play as long as it is by agreement between all players. Dont forget that if you can not preplay a game – you can substitute a player instead of forfeiting the game. In the event of a game(s) being called off by the club/controlling body (i.e. for weather or another circumstance out of anyone’s control) then the game(s) get pushed back to the next scheduled date. If no more days are scheduled then the games must be played as soon as possible by agreement between the players involved and the club. As we saw this year with the mixed pairs, people make commitments around the playing calendar and can not be expected to play on days that were not originally nominated. We also wanted to run a handicap singles and mixed teams competitions or similar but there simply is no room in the calendar at this stage. |
